Dr. Jackie Corbett, DVM, has provided veterinary care to the zoo through Animal Care Hospital in Great Bend for more than two decades. In 2025, Animal Care Hospital merged with Animal Medical Center, expanding the resources and expertise available to support the health of the zoo’s animals.
Dr. Ty Brunswig, a veterinarian since 2014 and co-owner of Animal Medical Center, has experience in both large and small animal care, joined the zoo veterinary team and has helped elevate the zoo’s standards of care through his broad knowledge and hands-on approach.
They visit the zoo nearly every Wednesday afternoon to perform physical exams and provide routine medical care, and they remain on call for emergencies as needed. The zoo’s clinic, located within the Raptor Center, features a large viewing window that allows visitors to observe procedures and gain insight into the important work of wildlife veterinary medicine.
